October Favorites 2016

Today is the day I share a few of my favorite products from the last month. There is only a few products, but I thought it would be nice to take the time and share them. From skincare to makeup, let's see what products caught my attention in the month of October.

The first product is a skincare product. I have really dry skin to begin with and on top of everything winter is almost here ready to smack me across the face. This product is for my body. How would I describe my skin? It's really prone to blemishes. I basically have eczema, but it's pretty easy to control except for the last few months where I had to go back to my old cocktail to make sure it doesn't go out of control. I basically use a really moisturizing body wash and a really good moisturizer afterwords, but lately it's just not enough so I decided to add an oil bath to the mix. It continues the moisturizing treatment overnight and the itchiness goes away for long hours after I take my shower. The one I use is the Excipial bath and skin therapy oil by Galderma. It's really good, really moisturizing and honestly even of the part of my body where it's not that dry it's just makes my skin really smooth and really shiny and looking healthy then it ever did. It's a good product to add during the winter that's for sure.

The second one is a sample i had for my birthday from Sephora. It's the Fresh Soy face cleanser. There's not much to say about it. It's really gentle, really soft on the skin, not too harsh. It smells good. It's just too bad the sample wasn't that big.

I also really enjoyed the Gorilla snot gel for my edges. My hair gets really curly fast even after I relax my hair. Lets just say that after 2 to 3 shampoos I already have to use some kind of gel for my edges. I tried a lot of them. Usually. anything I would try would just make my hair even more curly or would hold for not even an hour, but this product is the best one I have tried so far. I'm really pleased with it for the most part. I mean it does hold my edges for at least a whole day and it's not too hard or too sticky either. The only problem I have with this product is the fact that it does leave some residue on the hair. Yellow one on top of that. I mean I just try not to touch it too much then.

The last one is a product I actually already used before. The weird thing about it is that I used to love this foundation, then really hated it and I just started using it again and I love it again. It's the L'Oréal Infallible pro-matte foundation. It's really good and for some reason my skin is still pretty oily this time of year even if usually it's pretty dry. The reason I stopped liking it is because it would never sit nicely on my skin and it was just too easy for me to put too much where it would just be so patchy and caky on my face. But now it's smooth and fresh, the way it was the first time I ever bought it and tried it. If anyone is interested the color I use is 111 Soft Sable.

So this is it for my October favorites. Let me know which products you guys liked in the month of October.

My updated everyday makeup.

I thought I would do an updated everyday makeup. Basically, I'll just mention the products I've been using to do my makeup lately. Most of the products are the same but some of them are not and I did add a few to the list. If you want to see the previous post about my everyday makeup you can just click right here. Let's just get right into it.

As a primer, I use the Mac Cosmetics fix plus. I usually only use it during the winter because it does make my face a little more shiny then I would like during the summer. Since my skin is a little bit more dry during those cold months, it just makes it perfect. I tried it many ways and the way that really works for me, is when I dot my foundation on my face, spray the fix plus and then blend my foundation.

The foundation I use is still the same. It's my favourite and I really don't know if I'm ever going to change. The Revlon Colorstay is just the best and it's actually running low. I guess I'll be heading to the States soon. It's just the best, the color match and the staying power is just amazing. Now, I did use other ones but I just always go back to Revlon. I also tried the Nars Sheer Glow which I liked but it's too expensive for me to use everyday.

Next, I use the Maybelline concealer. It's the Superstay Better Skin in the color deep. I really like it. It really hides my dark circles and stays put all day. I don't use the Maybelline Fit Me anymore only because they either discontinued my color or it's just not available in Canada. I usually just put some on my under eyes and on my brow bone, let it sit for a minute or two and then dab and blend it. I don't use it as a highlight because anyways it's a perfect match for my skin tone and I'm not really there yet when it come to doing my makeup.

As for eyeliner, I still use l'Oréal Infallible The Super Slim liquid eyeliner in the color black. I really like it. I did try the L'Oréal Voluminous Superstar liquid eyeliner in the color black, but I must say I really don't like it. I have to press so much on the applicator or shake it up really hard to get a nice sharp line and a nice color pay off. That's why I went back to my trusty Super Slim eyeliner.

As for blush and mascara, it didn't change. I won't get into any long details but I didn't try anything new. I still use the MAC blush in the color sunbasque and my mascara is still the L'Oréal Voluminous in Carbon Black. The only thing I can say that has change is the fact that I use a different mascara when it comes to my bottom lashes. I use the L'Oréal Telescopic in Carbon Black. I like the fact that it separates my bottom lashes without making them look too thick. I should also mention that I don't necessarily use blush everyday.

Now on to the best part, my highlight. Now, I layer two highlights one on top of the other. I bought I new one not to long ago it's the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector one the color Topaz. I must say for my skin tone it's a perfect match, but I do need to layer it with another one which is the Colour Splash  baked mineral blush in Spicy Splash. Now yes it's a blush but I use the lightest color as my highlight, and I'm sorry but it is wayyyyy tooooo sparkly to be a blush, it's a highlight! I won't talk to much about the Becca highlight because I will have a review coming in a few weeks.

I don't use a lipstick for my everyday makeup. Like I said many times, I'm not a lipstick girl I only use them on occasions. The only product I use on my lips is some lip balm. The one I really like is the Softlips Lip Moisturizer in the flavour Cool Cherry. It also has a fps of 20.

My everyday makeup minus the blush.

Thank you

My fall lipsticks.

Fall is here. It's colder, but at least the sun comes along six out of seven times a week. We're lucky this year. Usually, it's all rain, rain and rain and I am not a fan of it. It's all about big sweaters, big socks and hot chocolate. I just wanted to show you guys my fall lipsticks. You know what, I guess it's fall-winter lipsticks because let's be serious we just wear most of the same ones through the next season.

The first one is by Tarte. It is from the Lippie Lingerie collection. The one I bought is in the color Revealed. Now, on me it is not super dark. It's almost like a nude color. It has a matte finish and has a mint smell.

Tarte Lippie Lingerie - Revealed

The second one is one I already mentioned in a previous post. Like seriously 2 or 3 posts ago. It's the MAC Cosmetics in the color Antique Velvet. If you want a review the link is here. It's one of my favorite. Like I said before, I line it with the Revlon Colorstay lipliner in the color Chocolate.

The third one is the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid in the color Possessed Plum. Okay so first of all I just want to mention two things. It is not matte what so ever unless you take some of the excess of and play around with it and I hate the smell of it. The smell of raisin or even raison cola is just not for me sorry and it's not like it fades away through out the day. Other then that, I mean I'm not really supposed to do a review here but the color pay off is really nice. Since I'm not a lipstick expert the wand is a bit difficult for me to use, so I line my lips with Annabelle Waterproof lipliner in the color Bordeaux. (I think this brand is only available in Canada.)

The last one I wanted to show you guys is not really a fall color. It's actually kind of nude. I only use it once in a while when I want to make the other lipsticks a little more pale, so I top the Mac Antique Velvet or the Tarte Revealed with the NYX soft matte lip cream in the color Abu Dhabi. I also do use it alone sometimes.

So these were my favorite fall lipsticks. I do have other ones but I just wanted to mention a few. If you have any questions just ask.

Thank You!

What do I keep in my purse?

Hey guys,

So the title might be throwing you off the more and more you are going to get into the post so I'm just going to mention it right now. This is not a post of every little things I keep in my purse but more about some tips about what I keep in my bag in case I sleep over at my boyfriends place.

He's really an in the moment kind of guy so I would always be stuck the next morning with nothing. We live pretty far apart and since I don't own a car and my work hours are crazy it's really just impossible for me to go home before and then go see him. That's why I decided to keep a few products in my purse at all time just in case this exact situation would come along and believe me it is so handy. It doesn't take a lot of space and it's really just the essentials.

So what do I keep, I have a spare toothbrush, small size toothpaste, a travel size face exfoliator and deodorant. I also keep makeup removing wipes. This is all in addition to the minimal makeup I keep in my bag. I only keep mascara, concealer, eyeliner, one brush and some powder foundation. Sometimes if I'm lucky, I have some highlight that I forgot in my purse from a previous night out. Don't get me wrong my boyfriend does have toiletries at his place, I'm just kind of picky when it comes to my face. He only has soap and I like to take care of my skin. Soap will only make my skin really dry and itchy and I'm not dealing with that the next day at work.

All of it fits in a small makeup bag. You don't have to worry about the next morning. I always feel fresh and as if I was leaving my own place when I'm actually leaving his.

My New MAC lipstick.

I actually had this lipstick since the beginning of the year. I bought it around New Years. It was really an inpulse buy only because I never spent that much money on only one lipstick. I know what you guys are going to say I already own MAC lipsticks but this time I actually bought them from Canada. (Everything here is always more expensive) But seriously, i was looking for a dark matte coloured lipstick for a while, preferably brown because it's just so damn gorgeous. Since the NYC Mohagany lipstick I bought last year I wasn't able to find one at the drugstore. Every brown lipstick I could find were either sheer, not matte or just considered a nude for my skin tone. After all of this research, I thought about buying online, but that plan backfired pretty quick. The cost of one lipstick plus shipping fees is just one big ridiculous idea. Let's not forget about the taxes too. The trend was out and even though I'm pretty late on it, I really want to try it.

The lipstick I bought from MAC is called Antique Velvet. It is is the matte family. It's a really rich and creamy brown color, really opaque and I don't have to pass over my lips a thousand times to get the color you see in the tube. The only downside is ( you guys probably know what I'm going to say right now) that it does dry out my lips the longer a wear it but it does have a great staying power on my lips. I did use a lipliner to line my lips before hand. I used the Revlon Colorstay lipliner in the color Chocolate.

Fall is coming you guys, well it's pretty much already here and it's a really nice color to rock in the next few months.

Life Update: Where Have I Been?

Hey everyone,

Hope you guys are still around. I don't even know when was the last time I was on here talking to you but I do know that it's been a while. This won't be a long blog post because there is only one main reason why I haven't been here for the longest time and it's because I didn't have a computer not even a laptop. I know there was always the blogger app on my phone but it's so not convenient. It's really hard writing a whole blog post from a phone. I also kind of took a break from everything at the same time. I didn't spend a lot of time on Bloglovin or even on other social media.

I'm really hoping you guys are still around because I did miss this part of my life. Sharing what I know and love was kind of fun. I'm still on all of the same social media where I used to be I'm still around I just want you guys to see more of me.

Talk to you soon!
