Redken Triple Take 32

There's a new hairspray in town. Redken hairsprays are knowned to hold, not be sticky and smell great. This one is no exception. The New Redken Triple Take 32 is all of the above.

It is considered an extreme high hold hairspray. Yes it does hold more then the Control Addict 28 from the same brand but why? Why would clients need a hairspray that would hold more when on top of everything the brand already offers something that holds all day? Because this product is somehow different. Yes you can use it for its extreme high hold, but it was actually meant for clients who want to extend their blow dry. What so they mean by that? Example; in our Salon we have clients who come every week to get their hair washed and set and they need a lot of hairspray (or that's what they think) to make sure that their blow dries will last as long as possible. This is what the Redken Triple Take 32 is for. To make sure that when your are done with your pampering your hair will feel like you've just done it days and days after. You can add as much product as you want your hair won't feel sticky and it won't freeze.

Little anecdote; this bottle has a different tip. Why? Just in case one of them blocks you still have two to work with!

Winter Wedding Essentials

Hey everyone!

We had our first snow a few weeks ago and it just got me daydreaming. Trees all covered in snow, footprints; Winter season is upon us. The scenery is just always amazing and every year I feel like it's the first snow I ever saw. All of those details got me thinking about fairytale winter weddings who are coming soon and very quickly I must say. These few centimeters we had inspired me to list my Winter Weddings Essentials. ( Just so you know, as I'm writing those lines, the few snowflakes we had, are already gone! Ughhh! )

First things first, a great tailored tuxedo is always a must. I came across this website called The Black Tux ( www.theblacktux.com ). Every men needs a tux on this big event. The husband to be, the groomsmen all the way down to the guests. What is this website about anyways? They offer everything a man might need. They offer a complete collection of different suits. From tuxes, all the way down to cufflinks and studs. If you or your man are always last minute, it's always good to know that there is such an affordable and reliable website for your tuxedo rentalYou can make your own style too. Pair a suit with whatever shoes you would prefer for that outfit that will be so special for you on that day. You can select you shirt, vest, shoes, cufflinks, etc.

Second, a must have of mine is the perfect hair accessory for the bride. A winter look isn't complete without the perfect accessories. I would definitely choose a hair piece with some kind of snowflakes in the color scheme of your choice. It is so simple, but the small details do make a difference. We always tend to go for the obvious white or silver hair pieces. Why not think outside the box a little? For example, if your color scheme is a nice winter blue, why not have a crown or little hair studs of the same color. People do remember the small details more than whatever is almost throwned in their faces.

Third but not least, I thought I would share a more fun winter wedding essential. Let's face it, winter weddings weren't always a thing. They only got popular over the last few years or so because come on winter can be so unpredictable, but there is also the oh so cozy side of winter that almost everyone loves. So instead of giving away flip flops when the dancing is at an all time high, you can trade them for slippers. Why not make your own signature wedding drink that involves hot chocolate mixed with Baileys. Last, why not throw snowflakes confetti at the bride and groom while they have their first dance as a married couple. I guest that was three!

This is it for my winter wedding essentials. Make sure to take a look at The Black Tux website for your tuxedo needs. I think it's worth it!

What's New? : Invisibobble®

Hey girls,

How are you girls doing? Me pretty damn fine. Let's just get right into it. You girls remember that I work in a hair salon. One of the many reps we have, came a few weeks ago to show us a new innovative accessory to see if we would be interested to sell it in our Salon. Now, the head office already knew about the product but since we ( and by we I mean the other receptionists and me) are the ones on the field, and we are more likely to know if a product have been already asked for or simply if we think it's something that would sell.

That day, she came and showed us the Invisibobble®. It is a new innovative accessory that may not change your life completely, but may improve it.

So what is it anyways? It's a hair tie ( in a more common way of saying it). I don't remember everything the rep said but if we look on their official website the Invisibobble®

• Doesn't leave a kink in your hair,
• Is a revolutionary styling tool,
• Is non-soaking,
• Avoids split ends and hair breakage,
• Avoids headaches,
• Doesn't tug or pulls on your hair,
• Has a strong hold,
• Is antiallergic,
• Is compatible with all hair types,

We finally decided to get them, mostly because a few people asked for them but also because it's just awesome. It comes in various colors but we got the ones from the breast cancer awareness collection and they are PINK! The rep told us what people loved most about it, was because they could tie their hair up in a ponytail remove it a few hours later and not have a single trace.

P.S.: If you feel like your Invisibobble® is getting a little loose or stretched out, all you have to do is heat it up with a blow dryer and it will go back to it's original form. Also, don't be fooled by the many copies out there. The real ones comes in pack of three for 10$ approximately and are made from polyurethane.

OOTD #26: Lost Files: Summer Outfit

Hey girls,

I was going through my gallery photo in my phone and came across an outfit of the day. I know, how nostalgic am I? Posting an outfit from this summer, I'm so cruel. (Saying this while I watch The Addams Family lol) If I remember well, I believe it was a really nice day. The weather was just perfect!

Fall Envy

Hey,

How are you girls doing? I was seeing a lot of media attention over the 50th anniversary of the Cosmopolitan magazine. So I went and bought the november issue. Besides the fact that the Kardashian family are on the cover  there's a lot of fall outfits ideas that cought my eyes. I just wanted to take a few minutes and share some of the pictures.

COAT ENVY:

This military green coat is available at Guess for 158$. I love the mix between the kaki green and the leather sleeves. It is very last year, but certainly still a must in my list.

PLAID:

I've always worn plaid for as long as I can remember. I don't think it will ever go out of style. The thing I loved so much about this article was the fact that it wasn't your typical plaid shirt. They played it off so well. You can find it on coats, shoes, purses. Love it!

PONCHOS:

New new new!!! I wouldn't necessarily want this pattern but it's a new fall trend that I have considered. I see them everywhere. When did they get so cool? This exact one is available at American Eagle Outfitters for 39,95$.

These are the few pieces that cought my eyes in the november issue of Cosmopolitan. Hope you enjoyed!

OOTD #25: Maxi For The Win

Hey girls,

I've been a little MIA. I had to get back into my work routine.

We had a really nice summer this year. I'm not really someone who goes all out with the short shorts, mini skirts and summer dresses because I work most of the time and lets face it, like I've mentioned before the AC at work is always killing me. In the two week I was on vacation, I thought why not, lets bring them out. Lets bring out whatever were in the back of my closet waiting to be worn.

I have two oufits to show you actually. It's like a two for one to apologize for my absence. They are both with maxi dresses.

My New Purse.

Hey girls!

I wanted to change my look since I became a manager. I just thought I should look more professional now that almost everyone relates to me. I didn't really have a budget for a whole new wardrobe so why not just buy a new purse. I know what you girls are thinking. No, I don't sell hair products with my purse on me and no, I don't take appointments or place clients with my purse on me either. I was thinking more about when I'm not at the Salon. It is more for, for example, when I have to go to courses where they show and explain the new products who just came out, or when we have meetings at the head office or even when we are invited to events. This business is all about making a good impression. Since I represent my Salon, I always have to look good.

I got it at Aldo. It is part of the new collection. When I bought it, the scraf was wrapped around the hole strap which I didn't like at first but learned to love. Unfortunately, it didn't stay that's why I placed the scarf like in the picture. It also comes in a kind of peach, pink, salmon color. It has a long strap that you can add or remove from the purse and it has a lot of compartments. I just think it's a nice alternative to those high end purses. It's a classic and I love it.

Work, my story.

Hey,

How have you been girls? Me, really good! I am now on my first vacation in three years. Well deserved vacations. I must say I've worked really hard at least the past two years to be in the position that I am in now.

I've mention here and there in some of my blog posts that I work in a hair salon slash hair boutique but without giving any details or anything. I don't really know why I never gave any details it's not like it's irrelevant. I won't mention the name of the hair salon because anyways it is really easy to find and also the fact that it is a chain but all owned by the same person. I am a receptionist slash hair consultant. I take care of the appointment for the hair salon and I sell hair products in the boutique.

When I started there I didn't have any experience. The only related job I had was the L'Oréal wharehouse sale and let me tell you this job is not really an experience. It can get pretty crazy in there. All I had to do is fill up the shelves, tidy them and kind of supervise your area. I barely had any interactions with the clients because they would just come in grab whatever they needed and leave. The funny thing is this is what gave me an interview for the job that I have now.

When I sent my CV to the company, the wife of the boss liked the fact that I somehow worked for L'Oréal. When I went to the interview, the manager of the hair salon liked me on the spot. I got a trial the next day and hired the same day.

At first, I didn't really know what to think of it. Everyting was just so new to me and I must say a bit intimidating. At the time, I was the only full time receptionist so they gave me a lot of responsabilities. After a while, I just took everything in. Whatever they told me to do, I did. I really started to love my job only after a couple of months. I was even doing stuff they didn't really care if I did or not, but you know what I know for a fact this is the kind of attitude that gave me the position I am in right now. I am not going to say it was easy because it wasn't. I am now manager of the hair boutique side. For three years, I was in charge of the inventory, I've seen women who never worked in our special place become manager before me and when the last person got fired I decided to step up. I already knew everything. The head office couldn't call the Salon without talking to me so why stay in the shadow right?!

This job has given me so much. If I said that to one of my coworkers, they would say I'm crazy. I mean it's a hair Salon right, so yeah there's a lot of drama and gossips but beside all of this ... it's great.

I've grown, I was such a shy girl who didn't really spoke my mind. I would come in work do my job and leave. It got me out of my shell. There, you have to make room for yourself otherwise they won't respect you. The same with clients. You have to speak up. Remember them, make small talk, it's all part of my job. Clients love me and remember me. I can't go anywhere without seeing a client and that's how it should be. As for the technical part of my managing job. Yes, I still have to answer to a head office but I have a lot more of breathing space. I make all of the orders for the Boutique and we don't have just a few products. I talk to reps about new products, events we might get everything almost. I love my job. The good side to all this is that we get to try a lot of products. We are given so many I mean I have a hole collection. Just to name a few, Kérastase, Redken, René Furterer, Pureology, L'Oréal and it goes on and on. We also get courses for the product lines paid by the company. It's really fulfilling. There's so much to learn and it's never the same thing. Everyday is a chalenge.

My next step would to become a representative for one of those hair product line. But one thing at a time. I've only had the title for maybe for four months now. So I should make it last for a while longer. Don't you girls think?

Tell me, what you girls do for a living? I like reading your emails.

Nail Art #14: Ballerina Nails

Hey,

You guys know I don't do my own nails anymore. I've been doing gel nails for a while now but I did stop for at least 3 months well since my birthday so it's actually been 5 months since I had gel. I've stopped because I just wanted my real nails to take a break and have their strenght back. After a while, they get really thin, they break a lot and mine got really sensitive everytime I did a refill. One of my nail did break in half so it was kind of a hint for me to stop.

I've been really loving this new shape that everyone calls either the coffin shape or ballerina. (I prefer Ballerina, it's just less creepy.)

That's the shape I had the last time I had gel and I just started wearing gels again and went for the same shape. I love my nail technician, she's so patient. (Shoutout to her) She always makes me happy. What's your favorite shape and colors for your nails?

OOTD #24: Joggy Jeans

Hey!

It's been so hot this last week in Montreal and it's always so hard for me to find something decent to wear. I don't think I'm the only one but you know when it's 35 degres C plus humidity outside but you have to think about the fact that there's AC at work. It's like what do I wear?! With all the restrictions and the weather I find it hard. Anyways thank the lord I had a day off yesterday like today in fact so I could just wear whatever I wanted.

It's really casual. Kind of just threw them together.

My facial mask collection.

Hey!

So I've been trying a lot of new mask in the last year or so and I really wanted to share them with you. I've always been a girl who exfoliates but I never have the patience to do a facial mask. Mainly because exfoliators can just be done in the shower while I do everything else and it only takes two minutes. The other ones takes 15 minutes to I don't know to dry out and I always wait like an idiot in my room for it to dry.

When I went to the States two years ago I bought a mask that I've been searching for so long. I could never find it here in Canada and this how it started. Basically, I started this journey because I have a lot of excess oil on my face, large pores and I just need something to take all of the excess away and dry it out.

The masks I have tried and still use are: (for the record everything I'm mentioning I loved)

1. Queen Helene The Original Mint Julep masque:

It claims to dry up acne pimples, rinse away blackheads and shrink enlarge pores. After trying it for a while, I can definitely say that it did dry up my acne, but to be fair, I'm not a teenager anymore. I get maybe one big acne pimple every two months, but I will say that it is a great spot treatment. For the two other claims, the product owns up to the claims.

2. Freeman Facial polishing mask charcoal and black sugar:

It has a dual action of purifying and exfoliating to smooth the face. I can say it does. We all have those days where we feel like our face won't be clean with just soap. It really refreshes the face and I feel like all the dead skin went away.

3. Life Brand Detoxifying Face mask (French Clay) and the Purifying face mask (jasmine, cactus flower):

The first one claims to purify and clean the face and it does. I wouldn't talk about it if it didn't. The second one claims that it brightens the face. It actually does. The first time I tried it I saw a difference after 2-3 days. Some of my acne scars had faded. And I just want to say that you can get the life brand masks at Shoppers Drug Mart and they are 3 for 5$.

4. Origins Clear Improvements Active Charcoal mask:

It claims to clear out pores and to be honest I've only tried this mask twice since I bought it not too long ago so i don't know about the pores part but I do know that it is the fastest mask I have ever tried. I put it on and literally not even five minutes even maybe three minutes it's already dry and ready to rinse. I love it. It's really refreshing and burns a bit but this is what I love.

5. Glamglow Thirstymud Hydrating mask treatment:

This one I love too but not all year around. It claims to hydrate the skin and like I said my skin is really oily so why would I need it right? I use it for the winter when my skin gets really dry around my chin, nose and mouth. It's so hydrating and smells so good. I definitely wanted to get the white one (can't remember the name) but they don't have it in the travel size.

I really love doing mask now, I really enjoy it. I have more patience. It's easy when you know there's results. I'm a mask junky. Tell me which ones have you tried and loved?

New Obsession: Dark Lips

Hey girls,

Today I wanted to talk to you about my new obsession. Dark Lips! I've seen so many pictures of girls on instagram wearing dark red, purple, vampy lips and I said to myself, why not me. Every fall to winter, the trend comes back so I made my research and since I didn't know if it was going to fit me I decided to look for a drugstore lipstick. The one I found and bought is the NYC Mahogany 320. It retails for 3.45$ in Canada. (0,99$ in the US)!

Now when you are looking for a dark lipstick at the pharmacy you are better off swatching them on your hand because they are not all like what ever they appear to be in the packaging. Some of them were really shear and some of them are more pink! Some of them don't even have testers in the drugstore but all I did was take the name down and look at pictures on google and watch Youtube videos. By the way a little tip. When you are looking at pictures of a certain lipstick make sure the person wearing the lipstick has almost the same skin complexion as you like this you'll know or at least be close to knowing if it might look good on you.

The first swatch is just one swipe and the one at the bottom is when you layer it. As you can see it's pretty rich. It's king of glossy but not too much. I usually just blot my lips once on a tissue and the shine goes away. I'm not going to lie it is drying on the lips. It was the only negative thing I could find untill now about the NYC lipstick. And if you can wear it with a lipliner even better. Your lips will look more defined. A good drugstore lipliner to pair with this lipstick is the Annabelle waterproof lipliner in the color Bordeaux.

This is what the lipstick looks like on me. I am not wearing a lipliner with this but I cleaned the edges with a concealer.

If you are looking for a dupe there is the Revlon lipstick in the color Black Cherry you can try.

OOTD#23: Christmas Party

Hey girls,

I know it's long over due but this is what I wore to the Christmas party for work. I had my hair extentions on like all the time and I had them sleeked back and middle parted. And for my jewleries, I didn't wear anything more than usual.

Top: Zara
Leggings: Zara
Shoes: Payless
Watch: Micheal Kors

For my makeup I only had a thick simple black liquid liner and a fresh natural face and nice highlight.
