What's New? : Invisibobble®

Hey girls,

How are you girls doing? Me pretty damn fine. Let's just get right into it. You girls remember that I work in a hair salon. One of the many reps we have, came a few weeks ago to show us a new innovative accessory to see if we would be interested to sell it in our Salon. Now, the head office already knew about the product but since we ( and by we I mean the other receptionists and me) are the ones on the field, and we are more likely to know if a product have been already asked for or simply if we think it's something that would sell.

That day, she came and showed us the Invisibobble®. It is a new innovative accessory that may not change your life completely, but may improve it.

So what is it anyways? It's a hair tie ( in a more common way of saying it). I don't remember everything the rep said but if we look on their official website the Invisibobble®

• Doesn't leave a kink in your hair,
• Is a revolutionary styling tool,
• Is non-soaking,
• Avoids split ends and hair breakage,
• Avoids headaches,
• Doesn't tug or pulls on your hair,
• Has a strong hold,
• Is antiallergic,
• Is compatible with all hair types,

We finally decided to get them, mostly because a few people asked for them but also because it's just awesome. It comes in various colors but we got the ones from the breast cancer awareness collection and they are PINK! The rep told us what people loved most about it, was because they could tie their hair up in a ponytail remove it a few hours later and not have a single trace.

P.S.: If you feel like your Invisibobble® is getting a little loose or stretched out, all you have to do is heat it up with a blow dryer and it will go back to it's original form. Also, don't be fooled by the many copies out there. The real ones comes in pack of three for 10$ approximately and are made from polyurethane.

OOTD #26: Lost Files: Summer Outfit

Hey girls,

I was going through my gallery photo in my phone and came across an outfit of the day. I know, how nostalgic am I? Posting an outfit from this summer, I'm so cruel. (Saying this while I watch The Addams Family lol) If I remember well, I believe it was a really nice day. The weather was just perfect!

Fall Envy

Hey,

How are you girls doing? I was seeing a lot of media attention over the 50th anniversary of the Cosmopolitan magazine. So I went and bought the november issue. Besides the fact that the Kardashian family are on the cover  there's a lot of fall outfits ideas that cought my eyes. I just wanted to take a few minutes and share some of the pictures.

COAT ENVY:

This military green coat is available at Guess for 158$. I love the mix between the kaki green and the leather sleeves. It is very last year, but certainly still a must in my list.

PLAID:

I've always worn plaid for as long as I can remember. I don't think it will ever go out of style. The thing I loved so much about this article was the fact that it wasn't your typical plaid shirt. They played it off so well. You can find it on coats, shoes, purses. Love it!

PONCHOS:

New new new!!! I wouldn't necessarily want this pattern but it's a new fall trend that I have considered. I see them everywhere. When did they get so cool? This exact one is available at American Eagle Outfitters for 39,95$.

These are the few pieces that cought my eyes in the november issue of Cosmopolitan. Hope you enjoyed!

OOTD #25: Maxi For The Win

Hey girls,

I've been a little MIA. I had to get back into my work routine.

We had a really nice summer this year. I'm not really someone who goes all out with the short shorts, mini skirts and summer dresses because I work most of the time and lets face it, like I've mentioned before the AC at work is always killing me. In the two week I was on vacation, I thought why not, lets bring them out. Lets bring out whatever were in the back of my closet waiting to be worn.

I have two oufits to show you actually. It's like a two for one to apologize for my absence. They are both with maxi dresses.

My New Purse.

Hey girls!

I wanted to change my look since I became a manager. I just thought I should look more professional now that almost everyone relates to me. I didn't really have a budget for a whole new wardrobe so why not just buy a new purse. I know what you girls are thinking. No, I don't sell hair products with my purse on me and no, I don't take appointments or place clients with my purse on me either. I was thinking more about when I'm not at the Salon. It is more for, for example, when I have to go to courses where they show and explain the new products who just came out, or when we have meetings at the head office or even when we are invited to events. This business is all about making a good impression. Since I represent my Salon, I always have to look good.

I got it at Aldo. It is part of the new collection. When I bought it, the scraf was wrapped around the hole strap which I didn't like at first but learned to love. Unfortunately, it didn't stay that's why I placed the scarf like in the picture. It also comes in a kind of peach, pink, salmon color. It has a long strap that you can add or remove from the purse and it has a lot of compartments. I just think it's a nice alternative to those high end purses. It's a classic and I love it.

Work, my story.

Hey,

How have you been girls? Me, really good! I am now on my first vacation in three years. Well deserved vacations. I must say I've worked really hard at least the past two years to be in the position that I am in now.

I've mention here and there in some of my blog posts that I work in a hair salon slash hair boutique but without giving any details or anything. I don't really know why I never gave any details it's not like it's irrelevant. I won't mention the name of the hair salon because anyways it is really easy to find and also the fact that it is a chain but all owned by the same person. I am a receptionist slash hair consultant. I take care of the appointment for the hair salon and I sell hair products in the boutique.

When I started there I didn't have any experience. The only related job I had was the L'Oréal wharehouse sale and let me tell you this job is not really an experience. It can get pretty crazy in there. All I had to do is fill up the shelves, tidy them and kind of supervise your area. I barely had any interactions with the clients because they would just come in grab whatever they needed and leave. The funny thing is this is what gave me an interview for the job that I have now.

When I sent my CV to the company, the wife of the boss liked the fact that I somehow worked for L'Oréal. When I went to the interview, the manager of the hair salon liked me on the spot. I got a trial the next day and hired the same day.

At first, I didn't really know what to think of it. Everyting was just so new to me and I must say a bit intimidating. At the time, I was the only full time receptionist so they gave me a lot of responsabilities. After a while, I just took everything in. Whatever they told me to do, I did. I really started to love my job only after a couple of months. I was even doing stuff they didn't really care if I did or not, but you know what I know for a fact this is the kind of attitude that gave me the position I am in right now. I am not going to say it was easy because it wasn't. I am now manager of the hair boutique side. For three years, I was in charge of the inventory, I've seen women who never worked in our special place become manager before me and when the last person got fired I decided to step up. I already knew everything. The head office couldn't call the Salon without talking to me so why stay in the shadow right?!

This job has given me so much. If I said that to one of my coworkers, they would say I'm crazy. I mean it's a hair Salon right, so yeah there's a lot of drama and gossips but beside all of this ... it's great.

I've grown, I was such a shy girl who didn't really spoke my mind. I would come in work do my job and leave. It got me out of my shell. There, you have to make room for yourself otherwise they won't respect you. The same with clients. You have to speak up. Remember them, make small talk, it's all part of my job. Clients love me and remember me. I can't go anywhere without seeing a client and that's how it should be. As for the technical part of my managing job. Yes, I still have to answer to a head office but I have a lot more of breathing space. I make all of the orders for the Boutique and we don't have just a few products. I talk to reps about new products, events we might get everything almost. I love my job. The good side to all this is that we get to try a lot of products. We are given so many I mean I have a hole collection. Just to name a few, Kérastase, Redken, René Furterer, Pureology, L'Oréal and it goes on and on. We also get courses for the product lines paid by the company. It's really fulfilling. There's so much to learn and it's never the same thing. Everyday is a chalenge.

My next step would to become a representative for one of those hair product line. But one thing at a time. I've only had the title for maybe for four months now. So I should make it last for a while longer. Don't you girls think?

Tell me, what you girls do for a living? I like reading your emails.

Nail Art #14: Ballerina Nails

Hey,

You guys know I don't do my own nails anymore. I've been doing gel nails for a while now but I did stop for at least 3 months well since my birthday so it's actually been 5 months since I had gel. I've stopped because I just wanted my real nails to take a break and have their strenght back. After a while, they get really thin, they break a lot and mine got really sensitive everytime I did a refill. One of my nail did break in half so it was kind of a hint for me to stop.

I've been really loving this new shape that everyone calls either the coffin shape or ballerina. (I prefer Ballerina, it's just less creepy.)

That's the shape I had the last time I had gel and I just started wearing gels again and went for the same shape. I love my nail technician, she's so patient. (Shoutout to her) She always makes me happy. What's your favorite shape and colors for your nails?
