Nail Art #12: You're so square!

Hey girls,

I'm back! I'm back with a nail art post for you girls. Like you know I get my nails done. I'm not quite ready to go back to my natural nails yet. After my stiletto frenzy, I actually took off my gel nails for a couple of months. It wasn't because my nails were damaged like not at all. My own nails are pretty strong, actually they are strong. The only reason why I stopped is because my nail technician stopped working since she got pregnant.

It's only at my birthday that I finally went back to do my nails. Unfortunately, I couldn't go back to doing stiletto nails because none of the other nail technician did them the way I wanted and believe me I'm not just saying it I actually tried the others.

I did my nails in the square shape. To be honest with you girls, I don't really like it. I just find it to be really simple. Yes, I do always wear black and white well most of the time at least but when it comes to my nails, I like them when they stand out to the point where it's almost the only thing you see. But oh well, I still do my flashy pinks because this is just what I love. Square is a nice shape but I do miss my stilettos.

Like you can see I really want to be different.

Kérastase: Level 1

Hey girls,

For those of you who don't know yet or have been following me for not that long, I work in a hair salon. I do not do hair or anything like that. I'm actually a receptionnist and I also sell professional hair products. I've been there for a year and a couple of months. I really do love my job.

The salon I work at is one of the few salons where you can find Kérastase products. They are a brand who are very selective when it comes to choosing where they want their products to be sold.

Since I have this opportunity, I also have the chance to go to the courses they give once in a while at the l'Oreal head office downtown.

The first one is level 1. They talk to you about the brand. The idea behind it and the history. In another part of the course, they basically show you all of the products one by one so you can see them feel them or even smell them.

As for my experience, I really loved it. Even if I worked there for a year before having the opportunity to go, I still learn a lot of things. It was worth it. These products sell themselves but it's always nice to give some kind of extra information.

If you want to learn more about the brand you should check out the website: www.kerastase.ca

My everyday makeup routine

I thought I would mention some of my favorite products of 2013 by showing you my everyday makeup routine. I can do my makeup in between five and ten minutes. It's really meant to have a fresh face and not look tired.

The first one I really love is my moisturizer. I really love the Biotherm Pure-fect skin. I love how it doesn't leave any residue on my face and It's a good primer to my foundation. It's meant to leave your face matte.

My second favorite item is my Revlon colorstay foundation. This liquid foundation is the best I have ever tried. It stays on my face all day. For some of you who have been following me for a while now know that I have super oily skin. I'm a shine ball. I always have to retouch. And the color match is perfect for me. I use the color caramel. I had to go to the States to find my color and I'm still searching for it here. So far not good. I only have waltmart left. Otherwise I'm doomed.

My favorite concealer is Maybelline's Fit Me in #30 in cafe. Again, it stays all day and the color matches and that's all I need.

My favorite liquid eyeliner is L'oreal's The Super Slim eyeliner. It's just really easy for me to do my winged eye whenever I'm in a rush.

My favorite blush is my mac blush in the color Sunbasque. It leaves a lovely peach copper I dont even know how to describe it color on the cheeks. I'm in love with the glow it gives me.

Finally, my favorite mascara has to be my L'Oreal's Voluminous Carbon Black. I just love it my lashes are jet black, fuller and even if it's not that easy to remove it's totally worth it.

This is what my makeup looks like almost everyday.

My first MAC Cosmetics purchase

I finally splurged and got me some MAC cosmetics. Thanks to one of my friends mom I got the opportunity to purchase some MAC makeup for a different price than here in Canada.

I got myself 3 lipsticks and a blush. I went outside my comfort zone instead of taking something in the brown colors or nude colors for my lips. I actually took something similar to the one I already have for my blush.

The first lipstick I choose was "cream in your coffee". Yes! I know this color is not out of my comfort zone but I didn't purchase just one lipstick.

The second lipstick I bought is "please me". It's a pale pink color that is way out of my comfort zone to the point where I actually don't like the color on myself.

The last lipstick I choose is "pink nouveau". It's kind of a hot pink color with a blue undertone. It is definitely a statement pink but at least I can see myself wearing it.

The last item I purchased is a blush. The name of it is "Sunbasque". It's a really beautiful golden color. It gives me a really nice glow. I juste love it.

I don't know if you can see the shimmer next to the lipstick swatches! That's the blush.

The reason why I really wanted this blush is because a couple of months ago I went to the States and bought a blush by NYX. It's definitely a dupe for "Sunbasque". It's called "Terra Cotta". I just love the glow it gives. I have to say the MAC one is more pigmented.
